Project Overview

I was approached by the owner, Dr. Hung, who asked me to create a postcard for the clinic as part of an upcoming campaign. Later, it was decided that a handout would serve better; the final goal was changed to a multi-use printable handout.

My Goal

Create a multi-use printable handout that can be used and reused for many years, that highlights the clinic's upcoming campaign as well as serves as an advertisement.

"Bianca, I would like to create a postcard for new clients offering $50 off a first exam."

Let's do it!

Initial Versions

Gathering inspiration from the moodboard and the mood of the clinic itself, I presented these two initial versions.

For this set, I drew inspiration from the roundness of the EVA logo and the gentle, kind care we provide to create a very round, approachable feel. The colors are pulled from the EVA and Bo425 logos, and from the Seattle Seahawks as a nod to the area. All clinic contact information is included, as is space for both an address and a stamp, with black boxes serving as removable placeholders for them. As an added plus, one of my coworkers’ cats has made an appearance to let the recipient know just how easy it is to redeem this offer.

With this version, I once again drew inspiration from the roundness and color of the EVA logo, but went for a blockier background style. This postcard was created with a limited color palette in mind, so information takes precedence over any visual elements. The QR code takes you to our website, and the front lists both clinics and contact info. I wanted to use this idea in both designs, but it seems I leaned into it more here, a feeling of trustworthiness and knowledge with the college blue.

FeedBack

The owner and manager selected the first option. They loved the concept; however, they pivoted from wanting a postcard to wanting a multi-use postcard-sized printout that they could use over and over again. Here is the to-do list that came from the feedback:

  • Fix the Best of 425 graphic

  • Remove any mention of 2026 so it can be reused

  • Increase heading size

  • Redo the composition to fill the address and stamp space

  • Add a map graphic that pinpoints both clinic locations

  • Add the "We are just around the corner of all your vet care needs

  • Make sure to keep coworker's cat as a part of the final product

Wednesday Night - "Can we have the final done and print 200 copies by Monday?"

Yup!

Version 2 And the final version

I originally designed on a 5 in. by 8 in. artboard in Adobe Illustrator, and this was the version-two design at the same size. I made sure to check off everything on the to-do list and was given the okay to send it to the manager for final print, however...

Last minute I was told that we needed to change the size to 5 in. by 7 in. instead. With that, I needed to rework the composition to ensure it kept everything the client liked while also meeting new size requirements. After the size change, this ultimately ended up being the final version sent to print.

This design was then printed and distributed to promote Eastside Veterinary Associates at an auction held at MEOW Cat Rescue in Kirkland.
